Nomad Internet Official Response to Texas AG Lawsuit

Nomad Internet remains committed to delivering high-speed internet to Americans

The State of Texas has made allegations regarding Nomad Internet’s business practices which the company vigorously denies both as to former and current operations.  The State of Texas’ dispute in part alleges that Nomad mislead consumers as to the internet connection it provides.  We believe that the State of Texas was unaware of the contractual agreements Nomad Internet  had and has in place including an agreement with Verizon to sell unlimited internet plans. Nomad Internet intends to meticulously follow its agreement with Verizon and continue serving consumers with an outstanding internet service experience and that over time the State of Texas matter will be resolved.

Nomad Internet was founded with the goal of bringing reliable connectivity not just to the on-the-road travelers to whom our company name refers, but also rural communities, which have historically been underserved by all kinds of utility providers, both public and private.

We launched in 2017 with the mission to serve the underserved, bringing people in rural communities and RV parks reliable access to the internet. When demand exploded during the COVID-19 pandemic, we quickly expanded, bringing our high-speed internet coverage to customers across all 50 states. Today, we are proud to be an established authorized reseller of Verizon services and continuing to evolve our capabilities and grow our footprint.

We are currently working with the Texas Attorney General’s office to present and establish all facts related to Nomad Internet services between 2020 and 2022, a period during which we worked with a network of third-party resellers to deliver internet service to consumers. Nomad Internet shares the state’s view that companies that knowingly engage in deceptive business practices should be held accountable.

We regret that the Texas Attorney General’s announcement of its probe of Nomad Internet’s services through the period between 2020 and 2022 fails to acknowledge key facts, causing confusion among consumers.

Nomad Internet remains active and committed to providing access to high-speed internet to people all throughout our country's rural areas, RV parks, and on the road. We continue to be a service provider to thousands of customers; an authorized reseller of Verizon services in good standing; and a small business that employs dozens of dedicated employees.

Our team of dedicated customer service professionals are available to answer any questions you may have. Members of the media may direct any inquiries to our media department via email at media@nomadinternet.com.
